Music is a very individual thing, that we listen to, we talk about, we share, we compose and we perform. Starting from different positions, we tried to find a common ground, so we could listen, talk, share, compose and perform together. In the end, the music workshop consisted out of four separated groups. A typical rock band with electric guitar, bass, keyboards, drums and a singer, an acoustic band with more of a singer-songwriter approach and two duos, experimenting and having fun with the production of electronic music. In the first sessions we played all together, tried to find out how instruments work and talked about our musical ideas. It wasn’t easy to find the right spot for everyone, but after a few days the groups already worked on their own songs, lyrics, melodies and beats. Every group had some time for themselves with the coaches Ella and Paul supporting them every once in a while. At the end of every workshop day, we showed each other the progress we made. It was important to us, to create something, that is our own and that every member of the group agreed with. All in all we wrote and performed four original musical pieces in three languages, that were 100% Art Camp.
